SureCart recently announced new pricing plans that have been causing some confusion among potential customers, with many questions being asked in the SureCrafted Facebook Group.

The new pricing plans were confusing for me at first as well, so I wanted to explain the new SureCart pricing and answer some questions you may have such as:

Old vs New SureCart Pricing Plans

Let’s go over the new SureCart pricing plans versus the old ones and explain the differences:

Old SureCart Pricing Plans

Prior to November 18, 2024, SureCart offered four different pricing plans:

  1. Launch ($0/month)
  2. Grow ($19/month when paid annually – $228/year)
  3. Scale ($49/month when paid annually – $588/year)
  4. Scale Lifetime ($999 one-time fee with no subscription)
SureCart Pricing Plans

As you can see from the SureCart pricing table with their old plans, certain features were divided among various plans.

For example, if you wanted access to their Affiliate Platform so affiliates could earn commissions by helping to sell your products, you would have needed to purchase the highest-tier Scale plan.

However, if you didn’t need some of the highest-tier features, you could save some money and go with the Grow plan.

Keep in mind that with the old SureCart pricing, all of these prices were for a single store.

Many customers were complaining that the old SureCart pricing plans were too expensive for a single store and agencies wanted some plans that were more friendly when running several stores.

If you ask me, the Scale Lifetime plan for $999 as a one-time cost is honestly one of the cheapest ways you could ever start and run a thriving ecommerce store for your business.

Under $1000 to start an ecommerce store and have no ongoing fees? Compare this to WooCommerce or Shopify and you are literally saving thousands of dollars on a year-to-year basis by using SureCart.

I would buy single stores for $999 all day long and never have to deal with recurring subscriptions or ongoing fees again.

Anyway, apparently people didn’t agree with me and thought the stores were too expensive which caused the SureCart team to reevaluate and create new pricing plans.

New SureCart Pricing Plans

On November 18, 2024, SureCart announced new pricing and completely revamped their pricing plans.

Here’s a screenshot of the new SureCart pricing plans for a single store:

SureCart New Pricing Plans 1 Store

As you can see from the new pricing plans, there are only three pricing plans offered now:

  1. Launch ($0/month)
  2. Pro Yearly ($179-399/year depending on the number of stores)
  3. Pro Lifetime ($499-$1499 one-time cost depending on the number of stores)

Compare these new pricing plans to the old plans and you’ll quickly notice that these upfront costs are significantly lower than the old plans.

Plus, purchasing unlimited stores as a lifetime plan only costs $1499 now, whereas a single store cost $999 on the old plans.

However, there are some huge key differences that have been introduced to make up for these changes.

Let’s cover these next.

What are the differences between the old and new SureCart pricing plans?

When comparing the new SureCart pricing with the old SureCart pricing, there are a number of big changes to note:

  • All 100+ SureCart features are now included in every plan with the new pricing.
  • There are no more monthly pricing plan options available. You either have to pay annually or lifetime as a one-time cost.
  • All new SureCart pricing plans now have pay-as-you-go for extras (fee-based), whereas the old SureCart plans did not charge fees for extra features (more on this below).

What is the SureCart Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan?

The SureCart Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan is the best pricing plan they’ve ever offered.

This plan is a $999 one-time cost for a single store and the best part is that it has zero ongoing fees for the lifetime of your store.

This means that you pay absolutely nothing extra for any of the new “pay-as-you-go extras” that were introduced with the new SureCart Pro plans.

So, even though it has a higher upfront cost than the new Pro plans, you will save a lot more money in the long run by not having any ongoing fees for extras.

You can learn how to upgrade your plan to the Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan later in this post.

Should I purchase the SureCart Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan or a new Pro plan?

Let’s do some math to determine if you should purchase the SureCart Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan with no ongoing fees or a new Pro plan with pay-as-you-go fees for extras.

The SureCart Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan costs $999 for a single store with no ongoing fees.

Meanwhile, with the new Pro plans, a single store costs $499 with pay-as-you-go fees for extras.

The difference in price is $999$499 = $500.

Therefore, as a single store, the question becomes “Will I incur more than $500 in fees over the lifetime of my store?”

If you will incur more than $500 in fees over the entire lifetime of your store, you’re better off purchasing the Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan over the new single store Pro plan, and then every sale after that point will be money you’re saving.

As you can read in the pay-as-you-go for extras section, a store doing any decent amount of sales will incur $500 in fees pretty quickly.

Now, what about unlimited stores?

If you’re an agency running ecommerce stores powered by SureCart for clients, then you may be better off purchasing the new Pro plan for unlimited stores.

This is because the new Pro plan for unlimited stores costs $1499 as a one-time cost.

Compare this to the Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan which costs $999 for a single store.

You may be thinking “I can spend $999 and get only one store with no ongoing fees with the Scale Legacy Lifetime plan or I can spend $1499 and get unlimited stores with the new Pro plan with pay-as-you-go fees for extras? The new Pro plan makes so much more sense.”

And yes, if you would like to pass those additional fees off to your clients, then you very well may want to go with the new unlimited Pro plan as an agency.

However, the question still is, “From a single store standpoint, will I incur more than $500 in fees over the lifetime of that store?”

Because if you will incur more than $500 in fees from a single store, you would save money in the long run by just purchasing individual Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plans for each store while they’re still available.

Heads up!

The Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plans are only available until December 18, 2024, and then they will be going away. Learn how to upgrade below.

So, it’s ultimately up to you.

As someone like me who is running a single store for my business, the Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan is an absolute no brainer and is one of the best plans I could ever ask for.

I will literally save thousands of dollars of fees over the lifetime of my store by not paying any fees on subscriptions, licensing, cart abandoment recovery, one-click upsells, order bumps, and sales from my affiliates.

Let’s go over how to upgrade to the SureCart Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan.

How to Upgrade to the SureCart Scale (Legacy) Lifetime Plan

If you’ve decided you want to purchase the SureCart Legacy Lifetime plan before it goes away, here’s how you can upgrade:

  1. Go to SureCart’s site here.
  2. Sign up for a new free account by choosing “Login” and then clicking the “Sign Up” link, or you can go to the Sign Up page here.
  3. Navigate to Your Store > Organization Settings > Plan & Billing.
  4. From there, you will have the option to upgrade to the Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan.
  5. Here’s a video showing how to upgrade through your store settings.

What are the SureCart pay-as-you-go extras?

With SureCart’s new Pro plans, they have introduced a lower upfront cost for plans in exchange for pay-as-you-go extras.

These SureCart pay-as-you-go extras are the following:

  • Subscriptions – 0.5% fee
  • Cart Abandonment Recovery – 1.9% fee
  • Order Bumps – 1.9% fee
  • One-Click Upsells – 1.9% fee
  • Affiliate Platform Sales – 1.9% fee
  • Licensing Platform – 0.5% fee

Now, you may never use these extras for your store. If that’s the case, then you shouldn’t worry about these extra fees.

However, if you’re planning to make some serious money with your ecommerce store, you will very likely use many of these extras and you’re leaving money on the table by not using many of these features.

For example, creating a subscription product is one of the best ways to build recurring revenue for your business. Subscriptions have a 0.5% fee with the new Pro plans.

That subscription product may also need to be paired with licensing to properly assign activations to customers. If so, licensing has a 0.5% fee with the new Pro plans.

If you don’t have Cart Abandonment Recovery on, why don’t you? You’re just throwing money away by not having that on. However, if you’re using that, keep in mind that SureCart charges a 1.9% fee on any transaction successfully recovered.

So, you might be wondering “How much will I pay in SureCart fees with these new pay-as-you-go extras?

I’ve been using SureCart to power my digital store for over a year now after I migrated my entire WooCommerce store over to SureCart.

Let’s use an example to determine what the fees might look like on a digital store similar to what I’m running.

I use SureCart to sell Start Blogging Blocks, which is a set of 400+ predesigned Kadence block templates built for affiliate bloggers that help you build blog posts and landing pages 10x faster.

Did You know?

If you’ll incur more than $500 in fees over the lifetime of your SureCart store, you’ll save a lot more money in the long run by purchasing a Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan versus the new Pro plans.

That “Did You Know?” alert above is one of the 400+ templates I offer inside Start Blogging Blocks. They make it easier than ever to create amazing conversion-focused blog posts and landing pages.

Anyway, Start Blogging Blocks is a subscription-based product that uses SureCart’s built-in licensing to assign a certain amount of activations to the customer after purchase.

Since Start Blogging Blocks uses both subscriptions and licensing, that means that SureCart would charge a 1% fee on every single transaction if I was on one of the new Pro plans.

0.5% fee for subscriptions + 0.5% fee for licensing = 1% fee every transaction.

So, as a simple example, say I generate $50,000 in Start Blogging Blocks sales over the lifetime of my store.

$50,000 x 1% fee (0.01) = $500 in fees.

Just like that, I’m paying $500 in fees in that scenario. And that isn’t accounting for ANYTHING else, such as abandoned carts that were recovered, one-click upsells, order bumps, or affiliate sales.

So, of those $50,000 in sales, let’s say that $5,000 of those sales were recovered using SureCart’s built-in cart abandonment recovery feature.

That would mean that SureCart would have taken a 1.9% fee for recovering those carts on those $5,000 in sales.

$5,000 x 1.9% fee (0.019) = $95 in fees.

Also, of those $50,000 in sales, let’s say that $7,000 of those sales were generated by my affiliates referring those sales.

That would mean that SureCart would have taken a 1.9% fee on those $7,000 in sales since I used their affiliate platform to generate those sales.

$7,000 x 1.9% fee (0.019) = $133 in fees.

So, now we have a total of $728 in fees.

With $50,000 in sales, there were $500 in fees (subscriptions + licensing), $95 in fees (cart abandonment recovery), and $133 in fees (affiliate sales).

Just in that simple example, I already would have saved $228 by simply purchasing the Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan with no additional fees versus buying one of the Pro plans with the pay-as-you-go fees for extras.

That’s because a Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan costs $999 for a single store whereas a new Pro plan costs $499 for a single store, so the Scale Lifetime plan is $500 more, yet you save way more by not paying any ongoing fees.

And that is a single subscription product.

What if you were generating $50,000 per year in subscription product revenue through SureCart?

In my example, you’d be paying $728 in fees every single year.

Then, what if you have more physical or digital products? Courses? Memberships? Templates? Ebooks? Merchendise?

You’d be paying fees for any of the extras you’re using with all those products.

You can see how quickly the fees add up for any store selling physical or digital products that is generating a decent amount of sales.

This is why I highly, highly recommend you pick up a Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan for each of your individual stores because they will no longer be available after December 18, 2024.

Again, you can learn how to upgrade your plan to the Scale (Legacy) Lifetime plan in the section above.

SureCart Free vs Paid Plans

Many people have been asking about what the main difference is between the SureCart Launch plan (which is free) versus their new Pro plans (which have a cost depending on the amount of stores you purchase) since both plans offer access to all 100+ features.

There are two main differences:

  1. An additional 1.9% transaction fee
  2. Basic Support with the Launch plan versus Priority Support with the Pro plans

So, if you go with the SureCart free Launch plan, SureCart will take an additional 1.9% transaction fee with every sale on top of other fees such as if you’re paying a Stripe fee or for any of the pay-as-you-go extras.

Let’s do some math to figure out if you should go with the free Launch plan or a paid Pro plan:

Right now with the new pricing, a single store on the SureCart Pro plan costs $499.

$499 for a single store divided by 1.9% (0.019) = $26,263

Keep in mind the $499 for a single store is a one-time cost with no recurring subscription.

This means that if you plan to generate more than $26,263 in sales throughout the lifetime of your store, you should purchase a Pro plan to save money in the long run.

As soon as your store hits $26,263 in sales over the lifetime of the store, you will have paid $499 through the additional 1.9% transaction fee.

Many SureCart stores out there will generate over $26,263 in sales over the lifetime of the store. Therefore, I’d recommend purchasing a Pro plan.

Now, what about unlimited stores?

Right now with the new pricing, unlimited stores on the SureCart Pro plan costs $1499.

$1499 for unlimited stores divided by 1.9% (0.019) = $78,895

This means that if you plan to generate more than $78,895 in sales throughout the lifetime of all your stores (either for yourself or for clients), you should purchase a Pro plan to save money in the long run.

As soon as all your stores hit $78,895 in sales over the lifetime of your stores, you will have paid $1499 through the additional 1.9% transaction fee.

If you were running 6 stores (either for yourself or your clients), that’s only $13,149 in lifetime sales per store. Therefore, I’d recommend purchasing a Pro plan.

Not to mention, when it comes to running an ecommerce store, I’ll take Priority Support over Basic Support every day of the week.

Your ecommerce store can be the lifeblood of your business, so getting answers and support when you need it is crucial.

To me, purchasing a Pro plan over the free Launch plan is a no brainer.

Even better, I would highly recommend upgrading to the Scale (Legacy) plan which has no additional fees while it’s still available until December 18, 2024.
